The “i” apostrophe syndrome

Skiis!
Some people use the ever popular but incorrect apostrophe for plurals (e.g. ski’s, snowboard’s, spa’s). But adding an extra “i” is quickly becoming all the rage. I typed “skiis” into the local craigslist search and was returned numerous ads. I thought maybe it was a local colloquialism, but no. It appears that the “apostrophe i” syndrome is taking over the entire country of the USA.

This guy just goes all out on the heading. The apostrophe and the extra “i”.

Excellant condition. Size 200cm Comes with poles size 130cm. WE Can meet and I will show them. Still alot of spring skiing left.

I once had an English teacher that said “if alot is one word, so is alittle.” I believe he was right. At least, I hope he was, or my life is comprised of lies!
It’s good to know that the skiis are in excellant condition. I wouldn’t want to pay for anything less.

Used K2 snow skiis and bindings. 165 cm long. These skiis include bindings and a carrying bag. They will need waxed before using them next season. I have a set of poles that I will throw in if they fit the user.

I was given a pair of women’s downhill skiis last fall and didn’t use them this year. We may be moving soon and can’t keep everything! These are a bit older, but seem to be in good condition. They would be ideal for someone between 5′ and 5′7″ under 150lbs. I don’t have boots or poles to go with, just the skiis and bindings. Please let me know when you would like to pick these up.
